About Us (something of a story)

I went to work as a delivery driver for a pizza franchise in 2015. Like most drivers, I sometimes had difficulty finding apartments in certain complexes.

With skills in basic mapping and publishing, I created maps of all the properties my store delivered to and put them in booklets for the other drivers, and they loved them. But, what about other stores owned by our franchisee? Also, could I put the information on the web? And, now that I was thinking bigger, should I consider making a business of it?

Over the next few years, in spare time, I created this web site and mapped most of the apartment complexes in the region of Arkansas where I live. But, if I ever had any chance at making a business of this, I had to be able to map apartments in other towns, cities, and states, and I certainly couldn't do it alone. So, the site had to tailor its information to each driver's location, and I had to figure out a way to pay others to create our maps. The simplest way to suport the site was to make it a membership site with modest subscription rates.

Main Goals

Initially, this site allowed drivers to use the main search field on the home page to find any apartment complex in our system. But it soon became apparent that it would be simpler to provide a way for drivers to simply retrieve a map of the property once they got to their destination. So we added a geolocation function. This allows a driver to click once to find the three apartment complexes that are closest to their current location.

Searching is drop-dead simple. With either the main search, or the geolocation search, there is only one thing you'll get: a list of locations you can choose from. Just click any one of them to view the map. Here's some Help on Searching. When you see a property that indicates it has not yet been mapped, click on the link to discover how you can earn credits against your subscription.

Once you're viewing the map for an apartment complex, you can click either on the map or on the "find-it-with-google-maps" button, to launch Google Maps and get directions to where it is. This is of particular help to new drivers. Currently, we have 292 properties mapped. We hope to map properties nationwide in the coming years.
